Say "So Long" to Sober!
This isn't your Grandma's Sweet Tea
by Dr. Winston O'Boogie II
Long Island’s Best Invention
Typically considered a summer drink, the Long Island Iced Tea is face melting cocktail that is usually made with equal parts Vodka, Tequila, Gin, Rum, and Triple Sec. Throw in some Sour Mix and a splash of Coca-Cola and you are ready to rock! Oh, and don’t forget to garnish with a lemon for that “could pass for iced tea” look.
Looking for a Mild Swerve?
This is one tea that really packs a punch! The typical LIT is roughly 28% alcohol due to the proportion of alcohol to mixer, but you can always ask a bartender to make yours “extra long,” if you are looking for trouble. The LIT is sweet and quite tasty for being almost completely alcohol, so be careful not to go overboard with this one… you may not like yourself very much in the morning.
Props to This Guy
The original LIT was first served in the late 1970s by Robert (Rosebud) Butt, a bartender at the Oak Beach Inn, in the Town of Babylon, Long Island, New York.
Thank you Mr. Butt for your contribution!
